Nebraska to test work release with inmates in Lincoln
Nebraska officials unveiled a new work release plan at the State Men’s Reformatory to place selected inmates in Lincoln workplaces daily while wearing ordinary clothes. A four member committee screens applicants for Sigler who will oversee the program with wardens assisting. The plan includes weekly pay, family remittances, on site dorm housing, and weekend furloughs, aiming to ease eventual release and reduce crime.
