Civil Service Commission exams are scheduled for July October and November with July 6 1971 as the first test date. One Military Academy vacancy and one Air Force vacancy will be filled with ten state wide Merchant Marine slots possible.
Osceola High School seniors reveal 83 percent plan further schooling with six heading to the University of Nebraska. Students announce fall destinations including Milford Trade School, Kentucky Training Center, South Dakota State University, Gustavus Adolphus College, and the University of Nebraska among others. many specify majors from engineering to education and nursing.
Mrs Norman Euse visited her parents in Shelby while Dale Beck and Joe attended a Quarter Horse sale in Ogallala. Mrs Elmer Tooker joined Mrs Mildred Sigler of Osceola for a Minnesota trip to see Crit McNurlin in Garrison. Numerous neighborhood friendships, baptisms, funerals, and school activities fill the week with visits, receptions, and a Homemaking class Style Show at the high school.
Distinct readers traveled far for Maggie Wieseman funeral last Tuesday with attendees from Omaha Cozad Des Moines Portland Ore Central City Kearney Council Bluffs and other cities. Sunday dinner guests of the Fred Franco family included the Robert Olberding family from Omaha.
A crowded weekend finds the Norman Michener family of Columbus and Wesley Jones family plus Wesley Michener from Stromsburg visiting the Oscar Jones home. The Larry Wieseman family and Donal Wieseman are guests of the Eugene Johansen family for Mother's Day. Sunday hosts include Mrs Anthony McVeigh and the Art McVeighs with Mr Hugh Pierce of Grand Island and Mr Leo Krausnick of Lincoln.
