Expanded drought measures include terraces, soil and water projects, wildlife plantings, and 105 farmers joining district cooperators covering 17,901 acres, totaling 100,980 acres district wide.

Boy Scout Week Observed By Local Units Across Week

City and School Caucuses Set for February 28
Voters are invited to two caucuses on February 28 with the school caucus at 7:30 p.m. in the school auditorium and the city caucus at 8:00 p.m. in the courthouse. The school district will nominate two for three year terms and one to fill a vacancy created by Phil Nyberg’s resignation. The city caucus will nominate two council members and a mayor. Incumbents Bert Gissler W. W. Norton Raymond Sedlak Marlin Johnson and Mayor Fred Bond face term expirations. The April 3 election will carry the nominated names to the ballot. Frederick Mills to be buried here today
Frederick Mills sixty died Saturday in Bartlesville Oklahoma. His remains were brought to Osceola for Thursday morning services at the Funeral Home with interment in Osceola cemetery. He is survived by his wife Versa his mother Mrs Augusta Mills and a brother Ivan all of Bartlesville.

Osceola will host seven Class C basketball teams for a four day district tournament starting Monday February 20 with games each evening except Wednesday. Army Private Homer H. Hastings Jr., son of Mr and Mrs Homer Hastings of Osceola, finished a ten week track vehicle maintenance course at The Artillery and Guided Missile Center Fort Sill Oklahoma.
