Osceola High School begins its new year as a fully accredited institution affiliated with the North Central Association. The curriculum lists sequential courses for grades nine through twelve with a wide range of electives and extracurriculars including dramatics glee club football track basketball and band.
Superintendent L E Wilson lists faculty including Dorothy Pearson Irene Eden Vida Beckmeyer Grace Merrick Evelyn Scholz Loraine Elm Borg Elsie Mansfield and others across departments such as English Social Science Science and Home Economics. Principal Louella Crew heads the department along with Helen Swanson and Ernest Horacek. Grades 1 through 5 are taught by Dororthy Gondringer Iris Rasp Doris Hanson and Betty Schinzel with Kindergarten by Mrs Leon Meerrick.
City council approves multiple insurance policies and warrants for June 1939 bills. Auditors report City Treasurer and Water Commissioner accounts. Ordinance No. 189 passes after three readings and a supervisor appointed for N Y A project in Osceola. Also legal notices and road department bids listed.
