State Could Issue Revenue Bonds To Finance Housing

Rhodes pushes Issue 4 allowing Ohio Housing Development Board to issue revenue bonds for home construction and rehabilitation with no tax funds to back bonds. It would let municipalities run housing programs, offer low interest loans, buy mortgages, and support rent subsidies while inviting private developers and faith groups to participate. Opponents warn of state bond defaults and limited unit output versus governor’s target.
