Gas utility wins right to add customers in Ohio

Columbia Gas of Ohio is authorized by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio to add new customers, ending a 1972 ban. The Norwalk area office will serve Norwalk, Willard, Monroeville, New London, Milan and Attica, with 575 residences and businesses on a waiting list. The decision allows new residential, commercial and some industrial connections, and permits recovery of SNG costs within rate schedules, subject to approval. New customers must meet insulation standards, and Columbia must report load impacts quarterly and semi-annually.

Flynt denied out-of-state attorneys for Cincinnati trial

The Sixth Circuit ruled that Hustler publisher Larry Flynt cannot use lawyers from another state for the Cincinnati case. The decision follows a Supreme Court directive reversing a prior Sixth Circuit ruling that had allowed out-of-state counsel.
