Salvation Army Captain Seeks Year-Long Leave From Norwalk

Captain Stanley Wells asks for a one year leave of absence citing health as the reason and wishes to stay in Norwalk. He faces a transfer to Youngstown set for June 23 and will learn his future after a June 18 personnel office appointment. Wells may pursue another job and has previously clashed with local groups though he praises the Salvation Army.

New London Priest to Retire June 13

Rev. Kenneth A. Hans pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church will celebrate his last Mass Sunday before retiring June 13. He has served 13 years in the parish and plans to return to Mansfield to assist at area churches. Rev. John C. Sherbno of Immaculate Conceptions Parish will succeed him.
