Former movie queen Hedy Lamarr arrives at a private New York club on Tuesday for an artists' rights exhibit benefiting the artists' group. She indicates plans to open boutiques in New York and London offering women's clothes and jewelry.
A World War II B25 bomber crashed in the rugged North Georgia terrain Tuesday with its bomb bay doors open and about one ton of marijuana on board. Both passengers were killed, marking the second such South accident in a week after a Lodestar crash in Rockwood, Tennessee carrying around 1,000 pounds of marijuana and killing its two occupants.
Harry W. Montgomery a 28 year old Sandusky Ohio KSU student testified he saw a National Guardsman fire first with a .45 pistol after signaling others. He said the guardsmen then turned and fired at students amid the May 4 1970 shootings that left four dead and nine wounded.
UPI reports in Sweden and England trials of a nicotine chewing gum aid for quitting. It helps transition to non smoking though some subjects become hooked on the gum. Separately Morton warns gasoline could rise to 70 cents a gallon and warns oil price hikes would hurt the US and global economies.

Norwalk Salvation Army captain Stanley Wells is reassigned to Youngstown for the month with a second in command role. Major Paul Kelley cites pressures and Wells questions the move while Wells frames it as a necessary transfer amid church repairs and finances. Wells leaves Norwalk June 22 and will be replaced by Lt. Dick Barnes of Toledo.
U S Senator Sam Ervin may visit Norwalk to discuss the Constitution as part of a local humanities committee series. He would require a $1500 speaking fee plus travel and lodging expenses, with community interest guiding the decision.
About 20 area residents packed Greenwich council chambers to oppose a $6 hourly charge for ball field lights at the village park. They argued the fee would burden local midget Lou Gehrig leagues and softball and slow-pitch programs. the electric bill had been under $300 in 1974. After a lengthy discussion the council voted 6 0 to suspend the fee and asked the clerk to coordinate with the Softball Association to resolve details.
