Ferguson snubs Silver Fleece Award in Cleveland audits dispute
Columbus Republican Sen. Thomas A. Van Meter awarded state auditor Thomas E. Ferguson the first monthly Silver Fleece Award for wasted Cleveland funds. Ferguson rejected blame for Cleveland's debt, noting $1.1 million paid 1971 78 for audits while asserting books are not auditable and state records requests are unfulfilled.

TV Night Flops for NBC With Diff'rent Strokes Only Hit
UPI reports on the January 26 NBC lineup staged by Fred Silverman ending with mixed results. Diff'rent Strokes stood out as the sole success, while Turnabout Hello Larry and others faltered against ABC and CBS premieres. CBS's Dukes of Hazzard and Pink Panther Strikes Again helped CBS rise, while NBC remained in the ratings cellar as ABC led. The wrap included schedule notes and upcoming CBS Western Mr Horn airing Feb 1 and 3.
