Frederick earns praise from commander after Vietnam duties
The USS Frederick under Commander James H Connelly earned a good rating for its performance since commissioning in 1970. The ship carried Marines from Vietnam to the United States and returned to San Diego with supplies and personnel. The voyage included stops at Pearl Harbor Subic Bay and Hong Kong with shore leave and purchases.

The Jefferson Ladies Auxiliary met October 6 at 7 30 p.m. at the Jefferson Fire Hall. President Mrs Catherine Remsberg led the meeting with an opening prayer by Mrs Virginia Zimmerman. 29 members and 1 guest attended. Treasurer reported 1312 95 on hand. Membership stands at 84. Refreshments planned for November by Mrs Barbara Zimmerman and Mrs Laverne Heffer. A sick fund visit to Susan Hemp announced. Halloween party planned with a $10 donation. volunteers listed. Next meeting November 3 at Fire Hall with recipe bring. Toy party to follow. Refreshments served by Mrs Summers hosts.
