Frederick County Commissioners will hold a Thursday 7 30 pm hearing at Winchester Hall on a State Roads Commission petition to relocate six county roads between Md 27 and Williamsville Road as U S 40 is upgraded to interstate standards. The SRC seeks to move Mill Bottom Road and Bill Moxley Road to deny interstate access while rerouting South Woodville Road to parallel the B&O tracks.

Brunswick Fire Protection Ratings Inspect Under Way
Brunswick is being inspected this week by the Maryland Fire Underwriters Rating Bureau which will likely keep Brunswick’s fire insurance rating at Grade C. John P. Mullan Jr. oversees evaluations across Western Maryland communities under 25 000 population, with results due in about six weeks. The field work includes checks of water mains hydrants sewers and the building department laws while the fire department alarm system and code enforcement are reviewed. The Brunswick Fire Department houses a 500 gpm pump 750 gpm pump and a utility truck with a new 750 gpm pumper expected next year. The department answered 82 calls and 10 mutual aid calls in the past year serving about 3 500 residents inside town and about 1 000 outside. The volunteer force led by Chief H E Cannon includes four assistant chiefs and eight drivers.
