Pigeons Overdue After Flight From St Petersburg to Westminster
Thirty three homing pigeons released May 22 by the Carroll County Racing Pigeon Club have not arrived in Westminster Md after nearly two weeks. Mrs William Depp says birds were last seen flying west over the Gulf of Mexico with jokes about their fate. A Pennsylvania Maryland club member notes no sightings and calls it embarrassing for the club.

ANNAPOLIS AP The State of Maryland sold 37.37 million dollars in bonds Tuesday at a net cost to the state of 10.29 million over 15 years for redemption. The low bid came from a syndicate led by Chase Manhattan Bank of New York City.

Maryland Board Sells Bonds Buoyed by Low Rates
The Board of Public Works awarded multiple bond issues with an effective annual rate of 2.925 percent, beating the state's last sale at 2.88 percent.
