Carter Waldheim vow to end Lebanon strife
President Carter and UN Secretary General Kurt Waldheim pledged to help develop a framework for a political solution to Lebanon's crisis and urged universal observance of a cease fire. They spoke after a 10 minute talk near Orlando Florida during the International Chamber of Commerce meeting. Carter noted Lebanon tensions between Christians and Muslims and praised Waldheim's mediation role in the Middle East.
