Door boarded up for burglaries linked to deadly east Cleveland fire
In east Cleveland a house fire killed seven children and critically injured their mother while a door, boarded to deter burglars, may have blocked escape. The father, Alhandee Hasain, was away. neighbors recalled prior break ins and a previous owner had shut an upstairs door leading to a balcony. The blaze caused about $2,500 damage, with six children and the mother found upstairs and the seventh child in the living room downstairs. The mother remains in critical condition.
