A 31 year old Middletown man, Robert H. Young Jr., died at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati from a severe lung infection after a dramatic helicopter transfer from Middletown Hospital. The Medi-Vac system, first used by the local hospital, awaited the arrival as windswept McKnight Drive was cleared.
The Ohio Supreme Court will hear arguments next Wednesday on whether State Senator Donald L. Lukens can run as a Republican for governor or the U.S. Senate. Space agency planners outline a rescue flight to the disabled Skylab with astronauts Charles Conard Jr Joseph Kerwin and Paul Weitz to perform a space walk and install a sun shield. The plan foresees a Sunday start or a delay to May 3 with teams at Cape Kennedy Houston Huntsville and contractor plants detailing recommendations and timetable.
Forecast calls for clear skies tonight allowing area residents to watch Skylab I in orbit at 8 10 p m from the west. Friday brings cloudy skies and higher temperatures with highs in the mid 60s. Yesterday reached 70 with a 34 overnight low and .03 inch of rain recorded.
Antioch College faculty facing a student strike were warned they would be furloughed without pay starting May 31 if classes do not resume. Students picketed April 20 over aid procedures and demanded four-year guaranteed aid for about 700 of the 1,100 students. Four students filed an injunction to halt the strike in Greene County Common Pleas Court, with a hearing set for May 24.
