Auditor urges study of state fair funding conflict
Ohio Auditor Thomas E. Ferguson called for legislative review of an apparent conflict in state law over funding the state fair. He cited improper payments totaling about 500000 from 1968 to 1970 and noted agencies subsidizing the fair through interdepartmental services. Ferguson pressed Democratic leaders to address how one department cannot benefit from another’s appropriation while a governor can direct services across departments.

Measles cases fall 10.8 percent in early 1975
The CDC reports 8,866 measles cases in the first 16 weeks of 1975, down 10.8 percent from a year ago. About 83 percent are concentrated in three regions: East North Central, West North Central, and Pacific states.
