Auto Sales Dip Expected as May Rebound Hopes Face Skepticism

Air mail to merge with first class under plan

The Postal Service proposes a merger of air mail with first class mail aiming to maintain or improve service. If adopted at current rates, a 13 cent air mail stamp could be replaced by a 10 cent first class stamp. Aug 1 targets start date with Aug 5 as a decision deadline by the commission. North Vietnam opens border amid reconstruction plan

North Vietnam for the first time since 1954 allows South Vietnamese entry and launches a nationwide reconstruction program. Saigon broadcasts say highways linking north and south will be built and jobs expanded for Southerners under the new Revolutionary Government. A Hanoi broadcast reports a government aircraft landed in Saigon welcomed by liberations forces, suggesting top officials may be in the capital. The broadcaster did not name travelers aboard.

Ellis Shelton, 39, found guilty by a Hamilton County jury of the Nov 26 1974 Warner Tavern holdup killings. The court set the death stipulation for Shelton, the second man convicted. Leroy Bates, 18, was convicted earlier on the same charges with the death stipulation. Lloyd Adkins 59 was killed during the Clifton Heights incident.
