Elderly Nevada woman keeps baby girl she raised
A 68 year old white widow in a Reno trailer cares for Monique, a two week old girl left in her care five years ago by the child's mother who later faced jail in Las Vegas. Despite welfare officials suggesting foster care, Ducharm has refused to give up the child, calling her Baby Doll. Community groups advised contacting NAACP and Reno Race Relations Center for help as the welfare division has not pursued adoption or foster placement.
