Selective Service Clarifies Undergraduate Deferment Policy
The Selective Service announces that full-time students in 1970-71 may keep deferments for 1971-72 if progress remains satisfactory. Incoming freshmen this summer or fall face no deferment if the pending act passes. Officials estimate about 50,000 affected in 1972, with many not inducted due to enlistments or delays.
