First Baptist Church to Host Evangelist Speaker

The Rev. Harold Litsey, evangelist from the American Baptist Convention, will guest speak at First Baptist Church on Sunday October 5. He will address all services and during the week urging deeper involvement in stewardship of time talent and money.

Methodists hear district superintendent at Sunday services

First United Methodist Church members will hear Dr. Lawrence A. Hinshaw, Santa Barbara District superintendent, preach at both 9 and 11 o'clock services. He and Rev. R.A. Ruder will administer Holy Communion during World Wide Communion observance. A dinner in his honor follows.

Southern Baptists mark new church year with services

The First Southern Baptist Church plans a full slate for the coming year. The pastor opens with a sermon at 11 00 a m titled Twenty Years Without God and a Sunday evening sermon at 715 p m called a Say-So Religion. Max Alexander heads 15 department superintendents and 55 teachers and workers who completed a prep week. Lee Wilkes directs the Baptist training program with 35 workers. Mrs Harold Caddell leads the Women Missionary Union with 25 auxiliary directors and officers. Gary Clabhorn guides the Baptist Men aided by ten men in youth and men’s programs. A total of 263 church officers were elected for the year, including ushers, choir, and committees.

Evangelist Linz to Lead Victory Crusade at Calvary Church

National evangelist Dr. Harry McCormick Linz will headline a Victory Crusade at Calvary Baptist Church 3355 Constellation Road Vandenberg Village October 5 to 12 with 11:00 am and 7:00 pm services Sundays and 7:00 pm weekday meetings. Old-fashioned Sunday at Bible Baptist Church
