Robert Lee Chandler Jr died early today at Stanford Medical Center Palo Alto at age 24. He was the son of Mr and Mrs William Hodges of 609 East Jewell Santa Maria. Funeral arrangements are pending at Newhart Family Santa Maria.

Recitation of double rosaries for Arcadio P. The brothers died in a Guadalupe fire Sept. 30 Arcadio 68 born Tiburon Cebu Philippines Wenceslau 64 born same place. Both residents of Santa Barbara County 39 years in region and 15 with Gerrard Farming Corp. Wenceslaus never married Arcadio survived by four sons and two daughters. Visitation 6 p.m. Sunday to 10 p.m. Monday at Newhart Family chapel with rosary time.

Five Die in Denver Area Plane Crash Amid Snowstorm

United Press International reports a Metro Airlines commuter plane overshot an instrument approach at Stapleton International Airport near Denver. The crash killed five passengers with two others injured as the first major fall storm deposited up to seven inches of snow and caused dangerous road conditions.

Ahuna Faces Forgery Charges in Santa Barbara Court

Elderly pilot dies in crash in Whittier

A 79 year old Pasadena woman, Mrs Minia Polly Stoehr, piloting a single engine plane, and 68 year old Monrovia resident Mrs Della L Kerfoot died when the aircraft struck a tree and burned in a residential vacant lot after circling overhead. The plane had taken off from Brackett Field in Pomona about 15 minutes earlier.

U.S. paratroopers killed two communist troops and captured 12 near Bong Son as Gen. Earle G. Wheeler arrived in Saigon predicting a new winter offensive by the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese.
