SY District Seeks Studies on Water Demands and Needs

Memorial services were held last week in Pleasant Hill California for Ahla Betaque wife of Harry A Betaque Jr who died at home. The Betaques had moved from Lafayette to Pleasant Hill where he works as a chemical engineer with Stausser Co of Richmond. She is survived by two daughters Mrs Kenneth Lingnall of San Francisco and Mrs Linda Bulatao of Honolulu Hawaii. Four men were jailed in Canterbury England after admitting they tried to smuggle 160 000 cigars into Britain from Holland without paying duty using a boat once a former customs department launch. In Honolulu the new 25 million state capitol building was evacuated when a fire alarm sounded due to cigarette smoke triggering an overly sensitive detector.
