Saigon reported further Communist truce violations including a siege base attack that killed 12 South Vietnamese rangers and wounded 68. Release of U S POWs in Laos uncertain

An early spring storm flooded tributaries of the Mississippi River drowning Raymond, 35, and Leon Flowers, 57, both from Lake Providence, La. The pair, on horseback, were attempting to round up cattle when swept away near Lake Providence.
