Walpole inmates release hostages surrender after demand clash
Eight Walpole State Prison inmates who seized three hostages for 26 hours released them and surrendered. They pressed for talks on inmate demands while officials offered no amnesty but agreed to be reasonable. District Attorney Burke said the men face charges of hostage taking and assaulting a guard.

Ford holds White House talks with auto chiefs and union leaders
President Ford met with executives from Ford, General Motors, American Motors and Chrysler and United Auto Workers chief Leonard Woodcock at the White House to discuss inflation and recession. Tidal Basin Bombshell Arrested In Sanford Nightclub
Fanne Foxe known as the Tidal Basin Bombshell was arrested early today in a Sanford Florida topless nightclub on charges of indecent exposure for allegedly dancing bottomless. She posted a $500 bond and was released after about 90 minutes. Also arrested was Club Juana owner Mike Pinter.
