Debate on oil resolution faces Kern Kern County ask for Santa Barbara support

The Board of Supervisors will consider a Kern County backed resolution seeking Santa Barbara County endorsement of H R 12541. The measure aims to halt oil activity in the Santa Barbara Channel and compensate Elk Hills, possibly creating a new petroleum preserve. A union threat to oppose any shutdown could influence the vote.

Malmstrom Wing Leads Missile Combat Competition at VAFB

The 341st Strategic Missile Wing Malmstrom AFB Montana topped the event with 1154 of 1200 points for maint and emplace tasks and for guidance and control. Five combat crews posted perfect launch scores, with Whiteman and 381st crews placing highly in Titan II competition.
