Seven Wounded In Riot At Ohio State University

Seven people were shot and wounded during riotous clashes at Ohio State University in Columbus as police and students battled. Over 200 arrests were made and 73 injuries reported, including 32 police officers. Gov. Rhodes ordered 1200 National Guardsmen to OSU campus to restore order.

Stanford clashes leave 16 arrested and 40 injured on campus

On the Stanford campus rockthrowing anti ROTC protesters clashed with police after a peaceful sit in ended with 16 arrests and 40 injuries. Police dispersed a crowd of 600 at the Old Union courtyard as tear gas and clubbing occurred during a fourhour vandalism episode.

Egypt reports bold raid across Suez Canal

Egypt announced more than 600 troops crossed the Suez Canal during the night in what it called its biggest raid since 1967. They claimed to shoot down one Israeli warplane damage another, destroy tanks and bunkers, and return home after several hours with casualties on the Egyptian side reported as three killed and nine wounded. Israel said it repelled the assault in about 20 minutes, launched a five hour reprisal on Cairo’s canal line, and later conducted a 75 minute strike on the Egyptian west bank with no Israeli aircraft losses reported.
