Free Fare a rock band tours the Lompoc Valley this week with Tuesday and Wednesday assemblies at Cabrillo and Lompoc High followed by Thursday night show. Sponsored by Young American Showcase based in St. Petersburg Florida the four member group features Rick Fitts Robin Michael Ron Pansing and Tom Wilbur.

On Tuesday March 30 eliminations began for Lompoc High School songleaders and cheerleaders. Judges included Mr Lakatos Mrs Gettings and others as seniors in each group earned two votes. Ten finalists chosen for cheerleading and twenty for second-round songleading with Mary Baney among both lists.
