Trial Hindered as Candace Mossler Falls Ill

In Miami the Mossler murder trial pauses as Candace Mossler faints from migraine and nausea for the fourth time since January 18, with Judge Schulz warning hospitalization may be needed. The state seeks to proceed, citing a fatal bludgeoning and stabbing of Jacques Mossler, 89, linked to an alleged love affair with her nephew Melvin Powers and a $33 million estate. Witness Arthur Grimsley testified Powers proposed killing Mossler, not kidnapping.

City Ransackings Reported Amid Stolen Cash and Damages

Home of Clevenger at 1821 Hillcrest was ransacked, and Mildred Horine’s 612 Ewing home had a pried door and emptied drawers. A theft from Brown Derby at 1275 Metcalf yielded 20 dollars and wine. Car damage with a $100 loss and antenna snapped on a Waynesfield resident’s vehicle are noted.

Harmony Night At Elida Promises Local Choir Event

A vocal concert titled First Night of Harmony will be presented by the Lima Beane Chapter S.P.E.B.S.Q.A. featuring a quartet and chorus at 8 p m on a Saturday in Elida High School. Proceeds support the Elida Community Lions Club sight conservation program. Tickets are $1 for adults and 50 cents for children, on sale at Kruse's Sohio Elida Restaurant and Elida School general office.
