Stark County Coroner G S Shaheen ruled carbon monoxide asphyxiation caused the deaths of Doyal Gardner 23 and Linda Sue Barr 21 both of Massillon. The pair were found in a parked automobile near Massillon on Monday.

Ohio River Flood Forecasts Lift Hope Amid Rising Waters

The Ohio River crested at Pittsburgh as floodwaters rose 2.7 feet above flood stage and began to recede downstream toward Wheeling. Forecasts warned three to five feet above flood stage, with no significant precipitation expected through Wednesday. Steubenville saw furnaces closed as water rose, and Cincinnati reported initial flood damage estimated at $3000. The Red Cross prepared shelters for potential flood refugees.
