Lima area deaths claim two local men in extended illnesses

Homer Rader 68 of 610% W High died in Chillicothe Veterans Hospital after a long illness. He was a former Bell Telephone employee, with two sons and 13 grandchildren among survivors, and two sons killed in wwI and the Korean War. Burial in Union Cemetery McComb. Hobart Kahler 68 of 425 McPheron died at home after a long illness. Retired city electrical inspector, he left a widow and three sons, with services at Lewis Memorial Chapel and burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials to Cerebral Palsy Clinic requested.

Amstutz, Bluffton grocer, 72, dies in California

Arthur H. Amstutz, 72, a former Bluffton grocer, died Sunday night at his daughter’s home in Fullerton, California. Born March 5, 1893, in Bluffton, he was the son of Jonas and Mary Amstutz. his wife Grace died in 1960. Surviving are his daughter Mary Ann Hill of Fullerton, two sisters Lillian Luginbill of Temple, Arizona and Marie Kennedy of Huntington Beach, two brothers Ivan of Riverside, Florida and Monroe of Bluffton, and one grandchild. He was a member of the American Legion. Services are 2 p.m. Thursday at Basinger Funeral Home with Rev. E. J. Penderwood officiating, Maple Grove Cemetery.

Green listed as Lima community leader and civic activist

UF's Green is highlighted for leading community actions assisted by Bradfield Center on a two year demonstration. He directed programs under the Econom ic Opportunity Act and supported a minimum standards housing ordinance. He held Lima Symphony roles, Rotary and Elks memberships and earned 1964 Lima's outstanding young man honor. He serves on Ohio Citizens' Council boards and was named to a national United Community Councils of America committee.

Narcotic Suspect Found Dead In Car

In Columbus Ohio a 22 year old woman arrested during a narcotics probe last month was found dead today in a car in the Ohio State University district. Coroner says poisoning or drug could be cause and the body had likely been there at least 12 hours. The woman, Sylvia A Mills, lived with brother Gary Flanders nearby before her Jan 11 arrest in one of the first university area narcotics raids.
