Religious Organizations Prepare For Active Year
Student Methodist group on campus the Wesley foundation will start a busy year with a program on Sunday October 2 at Kent Methodist church. Rev Donald E Barss leads the university class at 9 30 a m on concerns of the campus with morning worship at 10 45 a m. The day includes workshops at 5 p m fellowship supper at 6 p m and a student program with music and skits. The Newman club plans intramural football at Saint Patrick's church with officers Victor Naples president and Carl Viviani vice president.

At Calvary Presbyterian Church in Canton Ohio Robert Shedden of Forest Hills New York wed Miss Lillian Torgler of Canton on September 17 The wedding party included ushers Bruce Walker and Robert Torgler maid of honor Marian Torgler best man Richard Shedden bridesmaids Marilyn and Beverly Thow Gerald Stevenson Kent sang the Lord s Prayer and Delta Upsilon serenaded the couple Shedden was Kent 1949 and the bride finished a two year program at Kent. both belong to Greek organizations.

Beginning next Sunday the campus hosts a new student religious activity the University Sunday Hour led by Rev Laten Carter director of the Kent State United Christian Fellowship The program runs 9 30 to 10 15 Sunday mornings in the University School auditorium with devotions meditation worship Bible instruction and student music and is open to all students with Mr Carter serving as minister
