Deadline Looms For Free Schedule Changes At Campus

The registrar announces students may change programs without a $1 fee through Wednesday October 6 due to scheduling changes. After that date a $1 charge applies. Changes require registrar and department head approval, with dean and department head approval for adding or dropping courses.

A reorganization meeting of the Allocations committee will be held today at 4 p m in 108M to introduce the new system for the coming year. Martha Lansinger, chairman, announced that a secretary and chairman will be elected and attendance is compulsory for members.

Social dancing for students, held every Wednesday, will restart tomorrow from 8 to 10 in Wills gym. Admission is an activity card plus 25 cents per student, with recorded music until funds allow hiring an orchestra.

The Golden Wave, unbeaten and the only unscored upon Ohio team, hosts Waynesburg on Friday under lights seeking a third straight win in the 1948 season. After an 89-0 victory over Wooster, KSU enters favored status as Waynesburg throttled Randolph Macon 33-0, promising a tougher challenge than Wooster despite a slow start.

Indians Clinch Pennant as Bearden Delivers Five-Hitter

Lefty Gene Bearden starred for the Cleveland Indians with a nifty five hitter against the Boston Red Sox in a decisive play off game to seal the club’s first pennant since 1920. Manager Lou Boudreau fueled the surge with two homers and two singles while Ken Keltner added a three run homer and two singles as the Indians totaled 13 hits.

A graduate record examination will be given at the university on October 25 and 26 under Dr. Dwight Arnold. The seven hour test assists students in planning further graduate work with a $10 fee. Applications and info are available at 208K.

Flashes Dominate with 569 Total Yards Against Blues and Gold

The Flashes amassed 569 yards, 271 passing and 298 rushing, with 23 first downs to four for the Blues and Gold. They completed 10 of 22 passes with two interceptions, while the Scots’ air attack went 2 of 14 with three picks. KSU punted eight times for about 41 yards average, and one 70 yard kickoff solidified the visitors’ field position.

Scots Halt Wooster After First Quarter Rally

Roughness moved the pigskin to the Scots 24 yard line as All-Ohio With Little ran three times to the five and two more by Hudson. Tuttle scored from the one yard line but the extra point failed. Dick Kotis kicked off to Wooster, Jim Kennedy returned to the 27. After two incomplete passes Wooster punted. Fred Russell returned to the 35 and Tuttle connected with Ertler for a 57 yard scoring play after a flying block by Evans.
