A Detective's Reminiscence From London Police Files
A retired detective recalls a sixteen year career marked by a rare blunder. He details watching a bric-a-brac shop, a tailor, and a supposed fence, all revealed as disguises of one clever man who inhabited three identities. Despite near-misses, the case ends with the killer’s true nature exposed and the detective admitting his misjudgment.
