County boys prepare for harvest in Indiana County corn contest

County Superintendent James F. Chapman notes the Indiana County Worn Club will stage its largest season yet with over 1000 boys and several girls enrolled to compete for prizes funded by the Savings & Trust Company. Enrollees span Armstrong to Young townships, listing many named participants and their townships as the county gears toward a vigorous agricultural club season.

Triple Tragedy at Colver and Local Demises

A violent incident in a Colver shoemaker shop ends with Police Chief Charles Holzer fatally stabbed and his assailant shot. Seven Italian foreigners were later arrested. Farmers around Fleming's Summit organize the Flem ing Summit Co operative Creamery and Produce Company with $6000 capital stock nearly fully subscribed. The plan includes a modern plant opening in May, operated by H W Bell Company of New York and located at Fleming's Summit to buy butter eggs and other farm produce for shipment to city markets.

Progress Secures Homes for Baby and Ten Other Children

Homes have been found for a five month old baby boy and ten other children after the Progress appeal led by Mrs. Willard. Inquiries about the baby boy continued, with two information requests received as of yesterday morning.

Chester Fry 18 in jam charged with grave crime

Chester M. Fry of Blacklick is held in the county jail on a serious charge alleged by his wife. He is accused of criminally assaulting his nine-year-old daughter recently. Arrested Sunday by County Detective Josiah Neal, Fry was brought to Blacklick then for a hearing before Justice William Huston and held for the June term of court.

Weddings of a Week in Flyntingdon and Ambrose area

Russell Walker and Ida M Walker plan a noon wedding in Flyntingdon Pa with Russell’s lumber work ties in Indiana noted. Ida is daughter of Hannah Walker of West Church street and twin of Mrs S T Fetterhof of Smicksburg. After a wedding trip they will live on West Church Street AMi Millen Lingenfelter also reported. Andy Yurick of Robinson remains hospitalized after skull fracture from an alleged attack. he was operated on to relieve brain pressure after being brought to Memorial hospital Sunday evening.

Eliza Toward Howard aged 74 living alone near Homer City Center township died after a kerosene lighting accident. An explosion 10 days earlier caused fatal burns to head and face. she was treated at Indiana hospital but died Friday. She was a Lutheran church member buried at Oakland cemetery after services at Pearl Risinger’s home.

Young Men Still At Large After Escape From Vehicle

Holland and McAdoo, Deckers Point youths, fled from handcuffed state transport after leaping from a patrol wagon near Staf ford while en route to Indiana. Constable J B Reed pursued. the pair discarded coats and vanished into the woods. Hearings had been held for charges of criminal assault against Aan Purdy, 14, of Deckers Point. Both suspects were at large as of yesterday with no location reported.

Glen Campbell area fire destroys many buildings

Fire swept through Glen Campbell Sunday night damaging or destroying the Moose lodge three story frame structure and adjoining businesses. CG I Shrody meat market, Harvey Clark opera house, W B Marts general store, and other structures suffered severe damage. Hotel in the town suffered loss as owners work to confirm insurance coverage. The fire’s origin remains unknown.

Nixon Prodigary Wise 1 Conceived Garage Project

County Wild Life League Formed in Indiana County

A public meeting tomorrow in the Court House will formalize Indiana County’s Wild Life League. Child Falls From Window In Richmond Area

A four year old girl, daughter of Mr and Mrs Bruce Lenxsure near Richmond, fell from a second story window landing on a stone pile 26 feet below. She was unconscious for a period and sustained minor injuries in the accident.
