Oil official optimistic on release in Ethiopia

Edward Burchail of Tenneco Oil said he is optimistic for an early release of three Americans and two Canadians held by rebels in northern Ethiopia. He declined to confirm contact with the Eritrean Liberation Front or discuss demands, while a U.S. consular spokesman said negotiations are led by Tenneco and ransom or political demands would be relayed to Addis Ababa.

Nixon Calls $800 Million Welfare Cut to Resume Reform
