Duke extended the offer because of the serious water shortage in Chapel Hill. North Carolina opens its season saturday in Kenan stadium against Miami of Ohio. Unc Chancellor Ferebee Taylor said Dukes a gracious offers will not be accepted. The offer came after some Chapel Hill residents said they feared that the thousands who would attend the game would further Strain the steadily shrinking water Supply for Chapel Hill.
