Thomasville man Robert L. Bivins dies in Raleigh hospital
Robert Lee Bivins 74 of Thomasville died Saturday in a Raleigh hospital after a year of declining health. He was born March 17 1909 in Kentucky retired owner of Pine Knoll Rest Home attended Church of God in Silver Valley and married to Mry lma Deal on July 23 1957 who survives. Other survivors include a stepdaughter a stepson seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral Monday at 2 pm at the Church of God in Silver Valley with burial in Holly Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday 7-9 pm at Siler Funeral Home. Memorials to the Church of God in Silver Valley.

Wreck Fatal to Virginian in Lexington Area
James William Snider, 30, of Chesterfield Virginia, died Friday night in a two vehicle collision on US 29 about one mile south of Lexington. The crash involved another vehicle, authorities said. Snider was the sole occupant of his car and the other motorist was not seriously injured.
