Greene High School Class of 1949 20th Reunion
The Greene High School Class of 1949 held its 20th reunion with a Saturday banquet at Club Iown on August 16. Thirty-eight of fifty-one members attended from multiple states and cities including Greene, Ames, Denver, Richmond, and Bellevue. The event featured a 20 centered centerpiece, class resumes, a program with prophecy and will, spouse introductions, and souvenir photos. Music came from Greene stage band members, with prizes for travel distance and other awards. A Sunday picnic dinner followed at Perrin Park.

Miss Marie Jean Smith and Gary William Peer united in marriage on Saturday evening August 9 at the Church of the Brethren in Greene at 7 00 p m. The bride is the daughter of Mr and Mrs G C Smith of Marble Rock and the groom is the son of Mr and Mrs Corwin C Peer of Algona. Officiating were Rev Harry L Smith and Rev Wayne L Gjerde. The ceremony featured white gladiolus and button mums decorations and a cantata based program. The couple will reside in Craig Colorado after a wedding trip to Estes Park. Numerous out of town guests attended from Iowa Wisconsin Minnesota South Dakota and California.
