Louis Weintz 82 a former Lincoln bodyguard and Middletown street commissioner died at 8:30 PM Tuesday at 55 Monhagen Ave. Born November 7 1844 in Hoboken he enlisted as a musician aged 13 and later served with Company A Engineers and the Army of the Potomac earning rank of first sergeant. He married Luisa Elbert in 1873 and had a long NYC railroad and Middletown building career. He was active in G A R Warren Lodge 84 and St John Lutheran Church.
