The Springfield school district has about 310 school age children, a gain from last year. Recorder Roberts resigns and L F Thompson is elected to fill the vacancy. Surveyors finish plans for the Springfield Hender 800 connection and depart for San Francisco. Fin Roberts leaves for Marcola to work at Hyland lumber yard. Poles for the electric light plant will be removed from the river near the old mill for Booth Kelly. An engine from Mr. Walker's shop was sold to Hyland lumber and will be moved to Eugene for locomotive use. K C Martin, planer mill foreman, crushes his foot in a mill accident and will be unable to work for some time.
