Charter review shapes county governance decisions
Gould said the commission kept the county executive's nomination power for top boards while preserving the council's role and kept the Planning Commission as the sole body with nominating authority. The panel also dropped a budget fast transfer proposal due to tracking concerns, shortened the charter review cycle to five years, and plans to present four ballot items in November including abolition plans for clerk, sheriff, and auditor offices.

Road project balance delays halt start amid funding needs
County engineer Jack Bilsborough cited limited funds and right of way issues for delaying the 204th and Larch Way improvements. Kashani noted curbs gutters and sidewalks on the south side funded by Brandon Homes with Benchmark Construction pledging similar work. Site distance will improve to require only a stop sign, not a light, and reducing the hill would worsen private drive access.
