Five of seven American Legion Auxiliary units in Duchesne and Uintah counties District Nine received national awards for meeting their January membership quota. Presentation was by Edith Bonner of Salt Lake City, Department vice president and membership chair. Units honored include Duchesne No 22 Toyack No 53 Altonah Basin No 64 Roosevelt Jensen No 124 Uintah and Ouray No 126 Ft Duchesne.

Evan Peterson Elected Commander Of Myton Legion Post
Evan Peterson was elected commander of William R. Sands Post No. 5 The American Legion at Myton for 1966. He succeeds Antone Uresk who will serve as vice commander. Other officials include Calvin J. Monks second vice commander Francis Smith adjutant Lester Bowden finance officer John Uresk sergeant at arms Blaine Brokaw service officer.
