Two Escape Injury In Car Truck Crash Near Dothan

At about 11 30 last night on Montgomery Highway five miles from Dothan a car and a truck collided causing the Acme Freight Line truck to overturn and block the road. The truck carried around 21000 pounds of merchandise and both vehicles were badly damaged. No charges were filed against Burt White of Dothan or Corporal James Tucker of Napier Field. Traffic resumed about 530 this morning.

Mrs Laura Taylor Dies At Home Here

Mrs Laura F Taylor seventy five died at her daughter Mrs Carmi Driggers 510 South Oates street after a long illness. A former Taylor resident she had lived in Dothan eighteen years and was a member of Taylor Methodist Church. Funeral services at Taylor Methodist Church will be announced later by Ward Wilson with Rev J A Crews and Rev W O Phillips officiating and burial in Clark cemetery. Surviving are her daughter and Hosea C Taylor of Dathan plus eleven children and active pallbearers Dimon Driggers Roy Driggers James Taylor Roger Taylor Dewey McAllister Royce McAllister. Honorary pallbearers listed.

Seven Convicted in County Court

Thirty-two cases appeared at the County Court calendar before Judge Saxon P. Poyner for the October term yesterday with nineteen continued and seven defendants convicted. Three persons were convicted of violating the prohibition law and each was fined fifty dollars. Harry Grace and Mater Bingham pled guilty as charged while Wille Bell was found guilty. Richard Hicks, charged with perjury, was sentenced to six months on each of two counts. Henry, charged with assault and battery with a weapon, drew a 30 day sentence, and Bud Hutt, charged with petit larceny, was fined a dollar and cost. Hurd Gample, accused of permitting livestock to run at large, was fined $25. Five cases were not proved.
