Gifts to veterans in training exempt from subsistence-income rules
The Veterans Administration says reasonable employer gifts to veterans and non veterans in training are not income from productive labor for subsistence allowances. Gifts equal in amount by a firm to all workers were previously treated as bonuses and reportable, but may now be exempt while the general rule that bonuses are reportable remains.
