Dillon Man Fatally Hurt in Friday Car Crash near Buhl
Harold Sulender, 26, a popular Dillon resident, died late Friday night in a crash near Buhl Idaho. Four Montana friends were traveling from Reno when their car hit a trailer wheel, veered into a barrow pit, and overturned. Injured were Leroy Switzer Gwen Thomas and Frances Rae from Twin Bridges. Sulender served in the 163rd Infantry and 41st Division in the Pacific. He worked in Roberts Market’s meat department and is survived by his father, four brothers, three sisters, and two uncles. The body was returned to Whitehall for funeral services.

Chester Downing Returns From Chicago Exposition
Chester Downing, 4-H winner of a free trip to the international live stock show in Chicago, returned with his parents Mr and Mrs Norman Downing. His prize baby beef sold last fall at the Western Montana fat stock show in Missoula for 30 cents per pound on a rainy morning with few buyers, a figure he says would improve if sold locally.

Benninghoven Admits Guilty in Burglary Case
Jack Benninghoven pleaded guilty to burglary in district court before Judge Bennett, waiving counsel and time, and received a one year state prison sentence. He aided in the November 30 Lobby bar break in, while a minor accomplice was released. Arthur Camp pleaded innocent to forgery and was bound over for the next jury term.

Cars Damaged in Collision North of City on Sunday
Ed Sporich and Peter P Staudaher drove damaged cars with grill and front fender damage two miles north of the city after a Sunday collision on the highway. State Patrolman Robert Wright reported Sparich’s car approached a stalled vehicle and collided with Staudaher who was assisting. Henry Talent, a passenger in Sporich's car, suffered a head cut from the windshield impact.
