Zero Overpricing Spurs Savings At Eglin Base
Eglin Air Force Base applies the DoD Zero Overpricing program to procurement of equipment and spare parts. In FY 1986 there were 117 price challenges, about 53 on overpriced parts, yielding notable savings and cash awards to challengers. Notable cases include cheaper sleeves, eye bolts, and engine starters, with several successful refunds and contract price reductions.
