Florida to Begin Enforcing New Year Seat Belt Law

Florida Highway Patrol will enforce the mandatory seat belt law starting New Year’s Day after a grace period since its July effect. Drivers and front seat passengers must wear belts and drivers may be fined for unbelted front seat passengers under 16. violators face a $20 fine.

Destin Kiwanis Brings Joy To FWB Family Holiday

The seven Nguyen children from Fort Walton Beach left Destin Kmart with new clothes and essentials after the Destin Kiwanis Club covered their shopping. The family, whose home burned the prior Saturday, received jackets, jeans, dresses, shoes, underwear, toiletries, towels, a toy truck, and a fruit basket for Mom and Dad as club members helped them pick outfits and sizes.
