Eglin Air Force Base will host free tours including the climatic laboratory. Tours run every Monday Wednesday and Friday from January 7 to March 30. Tickets are available at chambers in Destin South Walton Crestine and Fort Walton. Contact spokesman Ken Larson at 882-3933.

Destin man given year jail for possession of child adult material
Forrest Woody Louden of Destin was sentenced to one year in jail after entering a no contest plea to a single count of possession of child adult material. He has already served 256 days and will serve about four more months, then five years probation. He must pay a $1000 fine and $500 in court costs and public defender fees.

Bridge Plan for Bay Marks Environmental Feasibility
Florida State University researcher Dr. Robert Skip Livingston reports an 18 month study of the Choc tawhatchee Bay system finds a midday bridge from White Point to Piney Point could be environmentally feasible with precautions. He warns evaluations of sustainable fish yields and protection of seagrass beds are needed, and that stormwater must be treated and causeways minimized. Continued on Page 12A.

SWU to Expand Sewer Service Along U S 98
South Walton Utilities plans expanding sewer service north of Emerald Coast Parkway along U S 98 with initial work tied to Gulf Pines subdivision. Project cost runs 250000 to 300000 dollars and may take four to five years. tap fees will fund construction. The 1987 budget reserves about 490000 dollars for Gulf Pines and bypass work. The existing plant handles about 2.6 million gallons per day and SWU serves roughly 3000 customers.
