Methodists join National Day of Prayer for peace

He cites calls from the Methodist Council of Bishops and General Board of Evangelism urging 42 000 churches to unite in a midday Sunday chain of prayer for guidance and a just peace. The appeal parallels a patrol from Episcopal Bishop Henry Knox Sherrill urging Protestants to pray on December 31 for a peace born of righteousness.
