Decatur lines will supply natural gas to the Wolverine copper tube plant on Sunday after a purge of its lines on Saturday. James King 20 of Decatur was treated at Decatur General Hospital for a head injury after his 1937 Chevrolet struck a parked car and then collided with a 1947 Nash and a 1941 Chrysler at 319 East Moulton Street. King faces disorderly conduct charges. A second crash on Sixth Avenue East involved a 1942 Chevrolet and a 1941 Ford after a truck skidded on wet pavement.

A two year old Cleveland boy Aubrey Vanney Jr. choked on a grape while riding a New York Central train near Dayton. He was en route with his parents to Alabama for the funeral of Mrs. Vannoy’s mother. Medical staff attempted revival with an inhalator but were unable to save him.
Glenna Lee Pontikes, 17, daughter of oilman Glenn McCarthy, and her husband George, 19, said they will seek employment soon. The couple spoke to reporters after marrying in Waco on December 2 and live with Pontikes' parents in Houston. Pontikes was a standout athlete at her high school and played at Rice Institute last season.
